Coating Process
Coating is kind of a layer which spread over a surface for any particular protection or decoration.
Coating Usage Areas
Mostly thin films of material that is bonded to metal surface properties such as oxidation resistance, appearance properties, corrosion, thermal protection or wear resistance.
Definitions of coating on the Web
* An emulsion, varnish or lacquer applied over a printed surface to protect it. Search also aqueous coating and varnish.
* A material put over the cladding, during the drawing process, to protect the fiber from the environment.* In platemaking, the light-sensitive polymer or mixture applied to a metal plate. In printing, an emulsion, varnish or lacquer applied over a printed surface to give it added protection.
* A layer of viscous asphalt applied to the base material into which granules or other surfacing is embedded.
* A general term referring to any type of paint, stain, etc.
* A coating provides protection from UV-induced fading and some protection from smudging and fingerprints. It does not materially improve the permanence of the print because most fading is due to visible light. On some material - as an example canvas - coating can render the print water-resistant allowing the print to be framed without glass.
* A liquid, liquifiable or mastic composition that, after application as a thin layer, is converted to a solid protective, decorative or functional adherent film.
* Microscopically thin, virtually invisible, metal or metallic oxide layers deposited on a window or skylight glazing surface primarily to reduce the U-factor by suppressing radiative heat flow. A typical type of low-E coating is transparent to the solar spectrum (visible light and short-wave infrared radiation) and reflective of long-wave infrared radiation.
* Coating is a process whereby a coating is applied to a substrate. The coating can be solvent based, water based, UV curable or electron beam curable. Sometimes coating can mean extrusion coating whereby a substrate is coated with a molten polyolefin.
* Material surrounding the cladding of the fiber for protection.
* A finishing process in which a substance - like rubber, resin or synthetic compounds - covers the fabric on one or both sides. Polyurethane is a common coating for outerwear. Coating typically aids water-resistance.
* Bill blade coating refers to a way of coating paper and making that coating even and consistent Coated paper cannot come in contact with any cylinders, so it must be dried by hot air on the surface using a high speed air flow. This initially formed ripples on the surface. Excess was sometimes wiped off by a blade, skimming and smoothing the surface. Tandem coating refers to a two stage process that coats both sides of the paper sheet.
* (1) The act of building a deposit on a substrate, (2) the spray deposit.
* the process of applying photoresist to a wafer, generally by dispensing a small amount of photoresist in the center of a wafer and then spinning the wafer at a high rate to spread and dry the photoresist.
* The inside of some potato chip bags have a metal coating. This coating is actually a thin sheet of metal that is deposited on the plastic. We do the same thing to thinned CCDs! Coatings are deposited in a vacuum chamber, in which nearly all atmospheric air is evacuated (similar to the environment of space). In the accompanying picture, the lower chip has a coating of magnesium fluoride, while the upper chip is thinned but is without a coating.
* Commercial folding boat builders tend to use materials for the hull and deck, which are already coated. Amateur builders may sew the skin to fit their frame and then coat it. Modern builders of traditional skin-on-frame boats use a variety of substances to make their boats water proof. Some are more suitable for folding boat construction, some less, the main concern being sufficient flexibility to withstand repeated folding of the skin when the boat is disassembled. ...
* A thin polymeric layer applied to the surface of a film to provide enhanced surface characteristics.
* is the even covering of food with wet or dry ingredients.
* A thin layer of material, conductive, magnetic or dielectric, deposited on a substance surface.
* Composite layer applied to the surface of the fiber cladding to provide mechanical protection.
* Coating of a substrate by extruding a thin film of molten polymer and pressing it onto the substrate.
* a thin metallic layer, only several atoms thick, applied directly to the glazing surface the purpose of which is to reflect long wave energy back towards the source.
* Metallic (zinc, nickel, aluminum) or organic (paint, plastic) coating of flat carbon steel products to provide corrosion protection.
* a layer of material spread over a surface for protection or decoration. Coatings for SPF are generally liquids, semi-liquids, or mastics; spray, roller, or brush applied; and cured to an elastomeric consistency.
* A layer of varnish, lacquer or other organic material which has been applied in fluid form and dried and united with or adhered to the surface of the closure.
* a thin layer covering something; "a second coat of paint"
* a decorative texture or appearance of a surface (or the substance that gives it that appearance); "the boat had a metallic finish"; "he applied a coat of a clear finish"; "when the finish is too thin it is difficult to apply evenly"
* a heavy fabric suitable for coats
* application: the work of applying something; "the doctor prescribed a topical application of iodine"; "a complete bleach requires several applications"; "the surface was ready for a coating of paint";
* A coating is a covering, usually liquid, that is put on to protect, or change the appearance of something.
